The course is based on the BCS Foundation Certificate in Business Analysis Syllabus, which is available to download from the course resources tab.

The certificate covers the range of concepts, approaches and techniques that are applicable to business analysis and it is relevant to anyone who needs an understanding of business analysis including:
• Business Analysts
• Product Owners
• Change managers
• IT delivery project roles
• Business Managers and their staff, and
• Those looking to move into a BA role.

By the end of the course you should be able to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of business analysis principles and techniques in the following areas:

• What is business analysis

• The competencies of a business analyst

• The strategic context for business analysis

• The business analysis service framework

• Investigating the business situation

• Analysing and managing stakeholders

• Improving business services and processes

• Defining the solution

• Making the business case

• Establishing the requirements

• Documenting and modelling requirements

• Validating and managing requirements

• Delivering the requirements

• Delivering the business solution.

 

The course should provide you with sufficient knowledge to take the examination with every expectation of success. The examination is one hour long and consists of 40 multiple choice questions and you must get at least 26 correct to pass.
